WEEKEND 3: GITA
November 5 & 6
The story of the Bhagavad Gita is an ancient but very alive text that allows us to discover our deep seated purpose (Dharma). Within the story, Arjuna (who represents us as students) faces an unbearable dilemma, or so he thinks. He is asked to fight, and as a warrior THIS IS HIS ULTIMATE PURPOSE. The problem lies in who he faces on the other side of the battlefield. His conflict is no different than the many internal conflicts that we witness every day and rather than focusing on our “likes'' and “dislikes”, the Gita conveys the perspective of living more usefully. Take away from the weekend how to incorporate these teachings into your life and your classes through lecture, deep dive discussions, relevantly themed asana practices, and personal contemplation.
WEEKEND 4: ASANA
December 3 & 4
An advanced Asana module. Learn how to build Agni (fire in the body) to help discover how to embody and teach all the layers of complexity in postures such as arm balances and inversions. We will thoroughly break each posture down anatomically and will add layers of depth including how to sequence to each of the postures as a peak pose. During this module, learn how to sequence classes to create a full bodied experience for your student. Along with postures and sequencing, we will also gain skills in how to effectively lead Pranayama (breath control/restrain exercises).
WEEKEND 5: GODS
January 7 & 8
An in depth study of the GODS of Yogic Mythology. Discover through the ancient stories how we at our base nature are DIVINE and how to create a relationship with that Divinity. A closer look into the more well known Goddesses (such as Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Durga etc.). Through inspired Asana practices, meditation, mantra and Mudras learn how their stories can help us live a more ritualistic life. Weave the lessons learned into class themes to allow your student to leave feeling more connected and ALIVE and in their bodies.
WEEKEND 8-SUTRAS
April 1 & 2
The Yoga Sutras is a book dedicated to helping each of us live a more aligned and purposeful path in life. The text brings forth how we create false identities and cause ourselves suffering. It also gives us tools in how to heal those sufferings in our bodies, minds and hearts. These guidelines were meant for us to realize that Yoga is not something we go to, it is something that LIVES in us. The first of the Sutras is best translated as, “Now is the discipline of Yoga.” This means that to live purposefully and aligned we must live disciplined. We must show up wholeheartedly and unconditionally. Join us for a weekend of shedding the unnecessary layers of Self through deliberate and enlightened conversation, lecture, intentional asana practices, and meditation. Learn to sit in the seat of Self more confidently and take away the ability to bring these teachings into your life as both teacher and student.
WEEKEND 9: SUBTLE BODY ENERGY
May 6 & 7
An immersive weekend into the layers that lay beneath our skin. We will explore the energetic anatomy of the body through a deepened awareness and understanding of the chakras, koshas, vayus, and bandhas. Discover why our subtle body plays such an impactful role on our physical selves. Through lecture, guided meditation, and purposeful asana practices, walk away from our time together with a deepened knowledge of how to read your students bodies on more than just a physical level as well as teach from an intuitive and connected container.
WEEKEND 10: CULMINATION
June 3 & 4
As everything in our world is temporary, so is our time together. This last weekend is to highlight and honor your Sadhana (or spiritual endeavor) and commitment to furthering yourSELF as a teacher and student.
